Once I sign to hotmail, the top ( most recent) email is already open. I also don't see an option to  delete messages without opening them first. Can I switch to the previous version or is there any other solution?

I am getting the following error when opening Outlook 2013: The set of folders cannot be opened.   "The file C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\*** Email address is removed for privacy *** cannot be opened."

Any suggestions?

(This is a follow-up on my other thread after noticing the underlying cause. The initial proceedings threw me off-track due to the system sending back incorrect aliases, filed report/bug issue through experiences now.)

I have two Microsoft related accounts

  • angelique__dawnbringer__net (microsoft_account/"personal")
  • angelique__dawnbringer__net (office365_account/"work")

As soon as I add either account, as an email-account, the either goes hey-wire. You can't add this account because it already exists. Well that isn't entirely true.

On my computer I have been able to add the office365 account as my mail account as such. On my phone I have been able to do the exact same thing. Normally what I do / have, is a "outlook.com" account that correlates with my microsoft_personal account, which gives me access to my personal calendars, contacts and everything else that are stored on my microsoft_personal account. This one, I needed to remove entirely.

Now the question is:

How can I add my personal account, so I can get access to my contacts and calendars while still maintaining my office365 account. (i keep my personal items stored on my microsoft-account and my "work-related" information on my office365 account which handles my e-mail as well)

For now I have Outlook 2016 installed on my pc and use that to pick-up my mail, I want to however use the build-in Mail-app (which handles the microsoft-account/oultook). On my phone, I currently don't have my e-mail/office account, since all my contacts and calendars are stored on my microsoft account.

Both PC and Phone are able to have the "work" and "private" account enlisted, but not the "e-mail" adresses ?since they use the same login-string? (guess-work)

Previously, when I had my Exchange server myself, this used to work without any troubles. I could have my "outlook.com"-account without problems.

The secondary screenshot is that of my Microsoft ID (personal). Now what I want is to be able to add both accounts at the same time, but that seems to not be possible. Is there a way around this or am I missing a point?

The exact same is happening on Windows 10 home/pro/ent. I added the phone screenshots to make it "clearer".

Outlook 2013 does not work as of yesterday. It MAY need to be uninstalled and re-installed. My internet provider does not provide assistance and I am a disabled Vet who cannot afford to pay for tech support. Thanks! *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

When I restarted my computer today and went to outlook the names on the folders changed.  My Inbox is now called Investments (which was one of my subfolders), my Calendar is now named Cabin Life (which was one of my subfolders in the Inbox).  There were many other folders that were created (i.e. there is now a Home(1) in addition to a Home subfolder).

I didn't load any new software or hardware.

Does anyone have any idea of why this happened and how I can fix it???

Thanks

The reminder dialog of a person's BD keeps coming back even after it is snoozed and dismissed.

How to dismiss it completely after one or two viewings?

Thanks in advance

it used to work but now... can't open Word attachments in outlook. Starts to open Word in protected mode but the dots just keep rolling and the program goes nowhere. I'm using Office 365 Personal in Windows 10 post anniversary upgrade.

I purchased the $69 Office 365 version because Microsoft stopped supporting Live Mail and one of my email accounts.  I installed Office 365 at the end of June 2016.  The program was working fine, I could send and receive email from both accounts.  I shut down my computer and the next thing I know I am not able to run Outlook on my laptop.  I do not have this problem on my desktop computer - both computers are running Windows 10.

When I try to start Outlook on the laptop, the bottom bar indicates it is disconnected and "folder was last updated on August 24, 2016 - the program seems to be stuck in this phase.  The problem started after I shut down the laptop and it installed an update.  Then I receive the dialog box:

Microsoft Outlook has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Close Program (button)

I have attempted the following:

-uninstalling and reinstalling Office 365 (twice)

-running a test

-checking the email setup - comparing it to the desktop setup

-repair the storage folders

-shut down the computer

-wait patiently for the problem to resolve itself - 2 weeks

-called a computer repair person - he tried the same things

-tried running Outlook in safe mode - with the space and received the same results/error message

Any help / advice you have to offer is greatly appreciated.  I do not recall how to find the email setup in Windows 10.

I had Outlook 2016 open to a Contact, left for dinner, and on return, all 200+ pictures laboriously assigned to my Contacts were missing.  The PC was not restarted; no other apps were initiated during this period, and there were no power outages.  Have rebooted PC and recycled Outlook 2016, and still no pictures.  Outlook.com --- no pics, but colored circles with sometimes logical, sometimes not logical Alpha characters assigned to each Contact.  No pics on People app on synch'd Lumia Windows 10 Mobile phone.

(I hesitate to mention this because it is probably entirely unrelated, but what the heck: three days ago, Outlook 2016 quit recognizing rules I had set up to route certain regular incoming emails to various folders).

Microsoft, I am becoming less and less (and perhaps even less) of a fan of these automatic updates combined with the scantiest of information about what they do.

So, I am an owner of an OMB but for some reason the Inbox doesn't show up under it. My boss is the administrator and we tried trouble shooting but nothing. It took him like 2-3 days for it to actually show up for him so is it a waiting game or is there a fix? Please help!

I have a rule created to move a message to a specific folder bases on who sent it.

My issue with the rule that the new messages do not show up in the 'Inbox'.  I have to click view each folder to see the new message within them.  The only indication of a new email is a number next to the folder.

I am not used to not seeing new messages in the inbox, is there a way to show the message in the inbox even though it's moved to a folder?  I see the option for Move a copy to a specific folder, but I don't really want duplicates of messages.  A rule called "Apply" message to specific folder would be best.

I thought this would be a given, but I suppose move literally means move out of inbox.  Not exactly optimal for me.

Thank you in advance for the help!
