Microsoft Office Outlook will not open . The message is  “cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file…………..filename etc…..outlook.pst cannot be opened”

This appears very similar to many posts, and I have tried the suggested means to resolve. I ran scanpst.exe twice and the file now is reported as error free.

Attempts to open Outlook are still met with the same message and it will not open. I tried to open in SAFE mode but the error message is the same.

I would welcome any advice.

Background – I ran Office 2007 on XP for several years without problems. Two weeks ago I moved to Windows 8.1 on a new PC, post the migration all was OK

Three days ago I had problems sending e-mails, this was eventually resolved by my ISP TalkTalk who got me to remove and re-install my account.

TalkTalk then had their own e-mail problems, but this is thought to be unconnected.

I can no longer send messages from my MS Outlook for Mac 2011 (version 14.4.2) keep getting this error message

“Resources temporarily unavailable – Please try again later” and error code #OCF014

Can someone help me please?

Best, CB

I have repeatedly encountered the distressing phenomenon whereby a WLM draft that I’ve saved refuses to open. The error message is “A problem has occurred. Please try again.” Trying again (many times, over an extended period) does no good. Why is this
happening, and is there any way to get these messages to open? Or is there a way to prevent the error?

I have configured my Outlook 2010 settings per the Email Service (charter.net) stipulations, have checked the details with their tech support, but continue to get a specific error code when I try to use the Test Account Settings feature.  The Send Text Message
task fails with the error message, “Send test email message:  The server responded: 550 5.2.0 Invalid recipie.”  As a result of that failure, I cannot use the charter.net account as my default email account, which I need to do very badly.  Charter tech support
says it is a Microsoft Problem.  I imagine MS will say it is a Charter problem.  Nobody has given me an explanation.  Something’s got to give.  Can Anybody clue me in?

while clicking MS Office outlook 2007 , there is an error message : cannot open your default e-mail folders. the file c:\users\lenovo\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst can not be opened .

CAN ANYBODY HELP IN RESTORING FILES/FOLDERS.

Hi,

I am getting the above error periodically on my Outlook 2010 at work.

I have a few email accounts defined on this and there appears to be no particular event that triggers the error message which regularly occurs every 10 to 15 minutes.

I have looked at other posts for this which suggest clearing the cache and emptying the FORMS folder which I have done but the problem just keeps reoccuring as usual.

The same file keeps appearing in the Forms folder called OUTLOOK.GL1 where GL1 is the name I gave to the email account that is on an MS Exchange server.

The file contains only 4 text charachters.

Now I havent added any customs forms at all, and certainly not in the last few days since this error has been appearing.

I have no idea where to look for any form definitions or where any forms might be required.

Can anyone offer some suggestions as to how I can go about solving this as clicking ok to this error message 6 times every 10 minutes is driving me nuts.

Thanks, George.

When trying to open Outlook on our laptop, cannot proceed any further due to a error message detailing “Cannot Open Your Default e-mail folders.  Errors have been detected in the file C:\Users\xxx\Documents\Outlook Files\xxxxxxx.bigpond.com.pst  “

The pathway above with the xxxxx are personal names not revealed obviously.

Unsure what this message means or what we need to do to overcome the issue.  Can anyone help?

We have an Office 2010 package on an Office XP(I think).

Since yesterday Outlook won’t start automatically. I get the error message 10375-13. It started after the update round that happened yesterday. Recovery didn’t help. Only a internet recovery of Outlook does the trick. But today it happened for the second
time. Is there a remedy?

I’m Dutch.

When trying to reply to e-mails I get the following Outlook error message: “could not complete the operation because the service provider does not support it”.

I can send and receive e-mail fine, just cant Reply (or Forward) to emails I receive in Inbox tied to my Verizon email account. Everything worked fine for a year but started having the problem a few weeks ago. Nothing on Verizon account side changed (afaik).

I also have a google mail account tied to separate Inbox and its working fine (can Reply, etc.)

I use three email accounts: two IMAP (using a website hosted by godaddy) and a gmail account.
Intermittently (50%), when replying to an email I receive to either of the IMAP accounts I get the 0X00CCC0F error saying the connection to the server was interrupted.
If I change the account to the gmail account it goes out without error.
Sometimes, if the reply message is part of a long thread, I can delete most of the content before sending and it goes without problem; other times that does not work.
The problem never occurs with the gmail account.  The problem does not seem related to size of the message.
It never happens with new messages: only replies.

I’m running Windows 7, Outlook 2007, with Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall.
No other antivirus or email scanning that I know of.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

When clicking on a hyperlink in an Outlook message, I get the following message (every time!)   General Failure. The URL was (URL listed) The data area passed to a system call is too small.

I have no idea what that means, or how to fix it. The problem happened when I got a new computer and reloaded everything, along with restoring previous files.

thanks!

After login to my Dell Laptop with Wndows 7 Professional, I am getting the following error message:

“There was a problem that caused parts of Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant to be disabled. You might not be able to sign in to Windows Live in some programs. For more information, please go to: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId = 144689.”

Going to the link is of not much help.

Could you please let me know how to get rid of this error?

Thank you

This error only started today after having to fiddle a lot with my mail program – Windows live mail –

when I try send a word file as a PDF file I get above error message.

I downloaded and installed exchangemapicdo.exe but this made no difference.

Everything else works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
