Last week, I was told my Hotmail account may have been hacked so I went on Hotmail.com, verified my identity and changed my password.  Once I had done this it started setting up two step verification.  half way through I realized that this would make it
a nightmare to access my email from my devices and I canceled the setup.  I then went into Security settings and turned off two step verification.  After doing all of this, none of my devices can access my account consistently.  Based on what I have read it
is because Hotmail is looking for the second step verification and email programs are not setup to provide this.

My work and Home PC’s both access Hotmail using outlook 2013.  Outlook constantly asks me for my password but then won’t accept it.  I have found that if I log into Hotmail.com using Internet Explorer and complete the 2 step verification and then enter my
password into Outlook, it accepts it and works for a few minutes.  Apparently Outlook and IE share some resources.

My phone has not been able to connect since the change.

The account in question is the account I am logged in with now.

I’ve been having exactly the same problem for the last few days. I can’t send or receive email with Live Mail from my Hotmail account. Other pop3 accounts work fine and I can log directly into my Hotmail account and send and receive email, but when I use
Live Mail I get the following error:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account.

Server Error: 3204
Server: ‘https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx’
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003

I tried dropping and re-adding the account in Live Mail, but it didn’t make any difference. When I check my online activity report in Hotmail it shows that I’m connecting successfully from Internet Explorer, but clearly, I’m not. All of these attempts resulted
in the error above:

I’m helping a friend with her computer and MS-account. When installing Windows 8.1 and in some other cases MS-account wants to verify your account by reentering your mail-adress and you should get a 4-digit code back to your mail. Now, my friend only has
a Hotmail-adress registerd to her account, no other information. So when asking for verifying an e-mail adress she can only verify to her Hotmail. And the code doesn’t show up. I suspect that you can’t verify an account to itself so were stuck in a loop here.
Does someone have a tips for this scenario?

Using Outlook 2013:

Today I was sending an email to 20+ recipients with various email suffix/providers:  gmail, hotmail, *.org, etc.

Each time I recieved an auto message:

Delivery Status Notification (Failure)  *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

. Type=1 (-798154547:817:-2147418113)

I have no idea what is causing or how to fix.

Email service working fine to other sources.

In Hotmail/outlook I created a group and added 176 members from outlook contacts.  I notice there are some duplicates.  When I delete a duplicate contact (or add additional), and click Save & Close, I get a message "This Contact Group contains contacts
that have not yet been sent to the server.  Press F9 to synchronize your new contacts and then save the Contact Group".   Pressing F9 from this screen does nothing and there is no send/receive option in the toolbar.  Then I exit out of my changes without saving,
click F9 and it syncs.  When I go back in to make the change again, I get the same error message.    Help!

Hotmail keeps pushing OVERPROTECTIVE which is complicated and waste lots of time. This is really irritating and annoying. I’m sure many people will stop using hotmail very soon. It is uncomfortable since it forced to change into outlook view.

I tried so many many times to log in. Try using another account which apparently having the same problems. Even I use another account to receive the code and try to log in, it said “We’re not ready for you yet. We’ll send you an email on 6/23/2014 when you
can replace the following security info.”. This is ridiculous. Do I have to wait for a month to log in?????????

People use hotmail, normally because it is easy to use, but now it’s totally not like that. Hope you fix the problem soon.

I set up Windows Live Mail 2012 on the Windows 8 OS but it doesn’t work

I created account, choose manually configures server setting and choose Hotmail. Not work, can not sent the Email.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account.

Server Error: 0x80860010

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80860010

Please support me via email: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Thank you !

All of a sudden I keep getting an error message every time I try to reply or forward  a message. This is only happening when I use hotmail on my iPad via Safari. It worked fine for years before yesterday. Coincidentally I recently received a security
info replacement message when I logged into hotmail. I hope that was not a virus or the cause of this however I don’t think that is the case since my account works via other access points (different computer, app).

This is is what is says when I hit reply on a message.

Sorry, it looks like there was an error. Please try again.

My email address is Hotmail, but most of the time I use MS Outlook 2007 on a computer running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit to receive and reply. I also have kept my calendar on the MS Outlook on my computer. Recently, I got a Windows phone (using Windows
8.0) so I could make my husband’s frequent doctor’s appointments from wherever I needed to enter them, and now I’m having problems.

  1. Nothing seems to sync from MS Outlook’s calendar to the Hotmail calendar at all.
  2. Appointments entered from the Windows phone appear on the Hotmail calendar, but the time is 2 hours different from the phone calendar. (Both the phone and Hotmail show my location correctly.)
  3. Because the Windows phone has few options for recurring appointments, I sometimes need to set recurrence on Hotmail, which then changes the time of the meetings on my Windows phone, and the change may be unpredictable.

Please help me. My husband is extremely ill and we need to go to appointments WHEN THEY HAPPEN. I can’t have my computer and phone telling me to show up at the wrong time.

I’m using Outlook 2010 (14.0.7113.5000) SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, SP1, Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector 32 bit (14.0.6123.5001).

I have more than 200 appointment between meetings, birthday reminders and common reminders, so some of them are recurrent yearly, monthly or not recurrent.

My problem is not related with type of recurrence, because 7 of them are failing.

It is not also related to the amount of minutes of the reminder.

All these seven appointments, when Outlook sync with Hotmail, set reminder to “None”.

If I check the appointment in my personal view where I can see the reminder bell column and the Remind Beforehand, bell disappears and Remind Beforehand is set with a value, in this case 15 minutes.

If I check the appointments in Hotmail (Outlook.com), they are set correctly. If I modify it in Hotmail, change is not showed in Outlook 2010.

I also have android and I use the Hotmail calendar there, and it follows all changes in Outlook.com perfectly. I thought Android could be causing these issues, but they occur even when my phone is off.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (wellstnj) account.

Subject ‘test’
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048849

Trying to send or receive messages I get a “Not Implemented” error.

In FILE it says that “Upgrade in progress” and that is should take 15 minutes. That was 4 days ago.

There is an Upgrade Outlook Connector button but it does not do any thing when I click on it.

I have exited Outlook and installed Outlook Hotmail Connector to no affect.

Can you help?
